Quartz coatings?
OP888 is a hard SiO2 glass coating.
SiO2 is Silicone dioxide 

Silicone dioxide is found in quartz. 

Quartz is found is 90% of our sand.
OP888 is a SiO2 glass coating that is formulated to be be tough, and is a hard coating.
OP888 will enhance gloss, shine adds a small amount of colour saturation.
OP888 is recommended for gloss paints, wheels and matte paints 
We do not recommend DIY applications of glass coatings on matte paints and should be left to a trained professional.
Longevity of coatings? The truth is all coatings will only perform as well as the care it is given. Even a coating rated for 10 years can fail in less than 2 years. On the other end of the spectrum some coatings have lasted longer than the rated shelf life. Many variable factors effect shelf life of coatings. The main two I would like to bring up are 1. What environment/s is the vehicle is subjected to and 2. Who, what & how is the car and coating cared for.
